Yichen Jiang d03d3ab70b Merge remote-tracking branch 'origin/master' into worktree/default-model-persistence
Carries two edits beyond conflict resolution, both forced by what master
brought in:

- `CustomProviderCard`: master added front-end key validation and a
component-level `keyValue` (already trimmed) while still writing
`apiKeyEnv` unconditionally. Kept this branch's blank-key rule and its
committed-profile retry gate, and adopted master's single `keyValue` so
the component has one spelling of the key rather than two.
- `docs/user/guide/providers`: master merged #1810, whose default-model
section still taught overriding the `api-gateway` row in
`$DSH_HOME/config.yaml` — the behavior this branch replaced. Rewritten
for the settings section the picker now writes, plus the review fix from
#1810 replacing the colloquial 挂着 in the opener.

Yichen Jiang bb43ff4f37 feat(ui): make a session that cannot send refuse to accept one
A default naming a route the Models page has since removed left the
composer saying 选择模型 while the input still accepted a message, which
then failed inside the adapter mid-turn.

`session.prompt` now refuses with `model-unavailable` before opening a
turn. That is the enforcement boundary: the method stays callable no
matter what a client disables. `session.models` reports the same fact as
`routable`, and ui-model pushes a block through the new
`ctx.conversation.blocks` registry so the bar renders the disabled
textarea it already renders without a workspace, carrying the blocker's
own reason. The push direction is forced — ui-model already depends on
ui-conversation, so ui-conversation cannot read it back.

The gate is `routable`, not "matches no advertised group": catalog
membership is advisory, so a route serving a model it stopped advertising
is missing from the groups yet perfectly usable, and `null` before the
first load never blocks so a slow Host cannot lock a working composer.

The scaffold gains a route-only adapter for fixture-less keyless
scenarios. Registering zero providers is a test artifact — every product
composition mounts one — and the goldens that froze the seat's fallback
label now show the model those scenarios actually route to.

creatixchu a7e43d4346 refactor: drop the create-by-name workspace route
The Web picker collapsed onto the directory flow (see the one-route-to-add-a-workspace
Agent Note), leaving workspace.create({ name }) with no product consumer. Delete the
whole feed line: the wire schema's name member and WorkspaceApi spelling, the gateway's
workspaceRoot config/default and the mkdir branch, the client seam that carried the name
(WorkspaceCreateInput, WorkspacesService.create, intentName), the dsh web
--workspace-root flag, and the fixture's name handling. workspace-name-conflict stays as
workspace.rename's duplicate-title error.

Yichen Jiang 9679597204 feat(ui-models): tag the provider rows this deployment declared
A row's stored profile could not tell a hand-declared gateway from a
shipped provider whose models someone narrowed — both look identical from
outside the adapter — so the Models page had no way to mark the routes a
deployment added itself.

The directory entry now carries `declared`, answered by the owning adapter
against its own installed catalog, and the page renders a Custom tag from
it. Absence stays "this adapter draws no such distinction" rather than
"shipped", so a route no adapter claims is labelled neither way.

Also records the default-route work's Agent Note and the e2e evidence for
all three changes: the composer switch writing the section, and the Models
page declaring a route with its own reasoning effort.

Yichen Jiang 89ae94d89f fix(web): stop leaking ask_user_question into every preset
`ui-question`'s node half called `ctx.tools.register` on the host context.
`ScopedLayers.merge()` combines the global layer with the agent's exact-scope
layer, and an unscoped registration lands in the global one — so the tool
reached every agent no matter which preset composed it. `core-web`, sold as a
two-tool benchmark surface, really presented three.

Rendering a question is a host UI capability; having the tool is an agent
capability, and only a preset decides that. The node half is now empty and the
`tool-ask-user` row moved into the preset that wants it. The TUI keeps its own
row, having no presets.

The composition tests now assert the global tool layer is EMPTY, which is the
invariant that would have caught this: any tool outside a preset reaches every
agent. The browser lane's composition, seeded-history, and hermetic-skill
assertions address their registries through a composed agent for the same
reason — those services are per session now, and the host cannot resolve an
`isolate` realm by name.

Yichen Jiang 45f1d439f6 fix(scripts): point the plane-separation gate at the bundle patches
The shipped host composition moved: `base.cordis.yml` and `web.cordis.yml`
are the dsh-base and dsh-web-app patch layers now. The gate still opened the
old paths and crashed on ENOENT — a gate that cannot read its inputs proves
nothing, loudly or otherwise.

Retargeting it also surfaced what the move implies for ownership: the web
bundle carries the roster and its browser plugin rows now, so the bundle's own
manifest is what must declare them. The gate's existing bare-plugin check said
so as soon as it could parse the file again.

Yichen Jiang 9eaa9d22a5 feat(tools): let one agent choose its tool presentation, and ship code
Code Mode was a deployment-wide field on the host `tools` row: a
deployment ran every session that way or none. The obvious product
shape — 代码模式 beside 标准/极简/创造 in the preset picker — had
nothing to hang on.

The registry itself cannot move into a preset; the agent loop's
scheduler, the api-proxy's presenters, and every tool plugin are its
consumers. So split the registry from its projection: `presentAs(mode)`
writes one cell on the calling agent's scope layer, exactly as
`restrict()` does, and the three reads that decided presentation take
that scope's mode instead of the service's. The config `mode` becomes
the default agents shadow rather than a process-wide fact.

Two consequences are load-bearing. `run_code` now enters a view only
for scopes whose own mode presents it — a native agent must not find it
dispatchable because another agent in the process does — and the
reserved name holds whatever the configured mode, since any agent may
select a code mode later.

`dsh-agent-tool-mode` is the row a preset carries to declare this. A
code mode waits for the host's `codeRuntime` rather than assuming it,
so a runtime-less deployment fails the preset at mount, naming the
row, instead of at the session's first request.

The shipped `code` preset is `standard` plus that row, ordered second.

Yichen Jiang 64fc536982 feat(web): order the shipped presets, and edit one on its own screen
The picker listed presets alphabetically by id, so the shipped set read
cordis, minimal, standard — reverse order of capability. A preset may now
declare `order` in its metadata; the shipped three declare 1/2/3 and read
standard, minimal, cordis. A preset that declares none sorts behind those
that do, then by id, so authored presets stay stable.

Editing had nowhere good to live. Inside a card it was squeezed into a
~268px column; hanging off the end of the grid it was orphaned from the card
it edits. It now replaces the list: a back link, what is being edited, and
the form at full width. One thing on screen at a time, which is what the
form's height wanted all along.

Cards in different grid rows sized independently, so a short description made
a short card. `grid-auto-rows: 1fr` makes every row the same height.

The trust badge lost its pill when the card CSS was rewritten, and `In use`
never had one; both are tags now. Icon labels moved from `title` to a drawn
tooltip — the native one waits about a second, which reads as nothing
happening.

Yichen Jiang 7281615d44 feat(agent-presets): give a preset a name and a description
A picker showed directory names, so the settings page could only ever list
`standard` / `core-web` / `cordis` and hope the reader knew what they meant.
A preset may now publish display text in an optional `preset.yml` beside
its composition, and the section renders cards — name, description, and the
one in use — instead of rows.

The file carries display text ONLY. `id` is the directory name and `trust`
comes from the root a preset was discovered under, so neither is writable
there: otherwise a locally authored preset could name itself into the
shipped set. It is a separate file because a composition is a top-level list
of plugin rows — YAML cannot carry sibling keys beside it, and a fake
metadata row would hand the Loader something to load.

Every read failure degrades to no metadata; absent, malformed, wrongly
typed, and blank all mean the same thing and the picker falls back to the
id. Presentation is not capability: a preset whose name is broken still
mounts.

The editor gained name and description fields above the YAML, and clearing
both removes the file rather than storing a blank name.

Yichen Jiang 9ac1547335 fix(web): stop leaking ask_user_question into every preset
`ui-question`'s node half called `ctx.tools.register` on the host context.
`ScopedLayers.merge()` combines the global layer with the agent's exact-scope
layer, and an unscoped registration lands in the global one — so the tool
reached every agent no matter which preset composed it. `core-web`, sold as
a two-tool benchmark surface, really presented three, and a locally authored
`bash-only` preset presented two.

Rendering a question is a host UI capability; having the tool is an agent
capability, and only a preset decides that. The node half is now empty and
the `tool-ask-user` row moved into the presets that want it. The TUI keeps
its own row, having no presets.

is the invariant that would have caught this: any tool outside a preset

Yichen Jiang 6758da87ae feat(web): choose the default agent preset from General settings
One settings row picking which preset new sessions are composed from.

It is deliberately a new-session preference, not a live switch: a session's
preset is fixed at creation and the host refuses to adopt an existing session
under a different one, so the row says "applies to sessions you start from now
on" rather than implying it can retune a running agent.

Options and the current value come from one `agentPreset.list` call — the
roster already reports which id an unspecified session gets, so the row needs
no settings-schema introspection, unlike the permission row it is modelled on.
The write targets only the namespace's `default` field.

The menu marks `user` rows: a locally authored preset is exactly as privileged
as the plugins it names, and presenting it identically to a shipped one would
hide that.

An empty roster reads as `unavailable` and renders nothing, because composing
no presets is a valid deployment rather than a failure — distinct from a
roster call that failed, which surfaces its message.

Yichen Jiang 5ed79887fb fix(web): correct the preset-layer contracts review found stale
None of these change behavior; each said something that was not true.

`SessionCwdConflict`'s doc block had been left stranded above the
`AgentPresetConflict` inserted under it, so one class carried a comment
about the other and the second carried none.

The roster comment named a `.system` directory that does not exist; the
shipped root is `config/agent-presets/`, and `system` is the trust its
entries carry.

The real-composition test attributed the disabled `api-gateway` row to
"side effects outside this process" alongside the port and the exporter.
It is disabled for a different reason — the api-proxy cannot mount in
this layer at all — and hiding that behind the same phrase would leave a
later layer unable to tell whether the line can come out.

One test claimed to refuse an adoption while asserting only that the
header records the preset; it now says what it checks.

`PERSONA_SECTION`/`PERSONA_ORDER` existed twice, once in the registry
that declares the slot and once restated in the row that replaces it —
a drift that would land a preset's persona beside the deployment's
instead of shadowing it. The registry exports them now.

The preset conflict message read "already runs agent preset undefined"
for a session that records none, which is the shape a deployment with no
roster produces; it names that case instead, with the regression that
reaches it through the gateway.

Finally, `PresetTree.write()` drops the `loader/config-update` the
inherited method emits — recorded on the override, since a future
edit-while-running flow needs its own persistence path.
2026-08-07 00:35:30 +08:00
Yichen Jiang 739042a804 feat(persona): make the agent persona a composable row
`dsh-system-prompt` owns the deployment persona as its own config and registers
that section unconditionally, so a process has exactly one. An agent preset
cannot mount the prompt registry itself, which means that without a row of its
own a preset could change an agent's tools but never its identity — and a
roster of presets that all sound the same is not worth having.

The row is scope-only by construction: mounted outside an agent scope it
collides with the registry's own `deployment:persona` registration and fails
loud. That is the correct shape rather than a gap, because the unscoped slot
already has an owner and this row exists to shadow it for one agent.

Two behaviours are pinned by test because both read the other way at a glance:
an empty persona still occupies the slot (shadowing the deployment persona away
entirely, then disappearing at render), and `assemble()` keeps section text
uninterpolated — `renderPrompt()` is the stage that resolves `{{…}}`.
2026-08-07 00:35:30 +08:00
Yichen Jiang 065257addb fix(agent-presets): bound the mount registry on a host that never reads it
Records are pruned by observation rather than by a disposal hook, for the
reason the module already states: three different owners can tear a
subtree down, and a cleared `uid` is what they share. That leaves the
pruning to whoever reads — and the only production reader is the
invariant companion, whose package is a development composition a
shipped host never loads.

So a live host pruned nothing: every session ever composed left a record
retaining its whole disposed subtree, since the fiber holds its config
and that config is the key its EntryTree is stored under.

Prune on the mount path too. Every session takes it, which bounds the
set at one generation of dead records instead of one per session.
